“The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another.”
– William James
Stress can be an overwhelming response we as business leaders encounter on a daily basis in our busy lives. The stresses of a leader can take a toll not only on your physical being but also impact your business such as, loss of productivity and profitability.
There have been countless studies on leadership skills and endless research on styles of leadership. Many of us have worked with or for leaders who spoke with a stressful tone or inspired fear through intimidating language. Any study or research will tell you that stress is not productive for the leader or the listener.
Instilling workers with inspiration and a positive attitude takes a consistent approach that guides a company culture to be successful and will always have lasting benefits. A simple way to understand good leadership is to understand and exhibit a good attitude.
All of us carry different levels of stress and convey stress through words, body language and actions however an effective leader practices control and the skills needed to perform at their best.
Setting the right example in calming the body mind and spirit is the right example and focus to reduce stress and improve the quality of the business world.
